Hilarious George Gregan on field ballet
As a non Aussie I feel it's my duty to show this clip to the world.
Although George Gregan is one of the most respected and applauded players in world rugby, and perhaps the most consistent scrumhalf of his generation, he looks like an absolute fool here.
This will certainly appeal to those who cannot stand Georgey. At Rugbydump we respect the man for some of his past achievements, but do always find it amusing that he tries to keep a straight face when something happens.
When he scores a try for example, he tries to look so casual and plays it cool trying to look like the man.
Well mate, you made a fool of yourself here alright.

i hate gregan personally, he is over rated due to one saving tackle that was more luck than skill, he doesnt have good form in his tackling at any time and he doesnt have spectacular passing, i'm glad he fell on his ass haha

Gregan's tackling deserves praise regardless. Even if not on-form, the guy had the sack to tackle many a player over his weight.
Yes he is a douchebag at any put-in of the ball, but I'd take him on my team over almost any of his contemporaries. Name a scrumhalf from 1997-2006 who had a better string of say, 6-8 years...
Granted, there have been some special guys out there (like Justin Marshall and Fabien Galthie), but neither delivered an RWC.

name a better scrum half that has played while he has been around. he isn't overated because of one tackle he is highly rated because he has delivered consistent performances for a decade. what a machine

love or hate he's a great player...
...lets hope we'll be telling him "for more years boys" this time
By boomshanka, at September 05, 2007 1:54 am
Thats "FOUR more years" there brother.
As a Saffa, I hate him, but as a Rugby fan, I think he is a sensational player.
Whoever said the USA scrummmie is better should be shot.
I feel sorry for the sonofabitch as well, they handed the captaincy to someone else while he was still captain, poor form Connoly

He may look like a dick on the pitch, but he is not overated.
Never mind that tackle, what he does and how he positions his forwards in defense is amazing, best in the world at that. As soon as he goes off australia struggle at the break down.
in attack he's not bad either.

Hi, George!
Hahahahahahahaha!
By Anonymous, at September 06, 2007 5:22 am
yeh mate im pretty sure that he got a shoulder from the opposition that caused him to be knocked over. he wasnt trying to kick the ball because when you try to kick a ball it usually leaves your hands
By Anonymous, at September 07, 2007 8:42 am
The south african during the RWC 99 was definately better then greegan.. cant really remember his name or spell it for that matter.. smtg like van der westhuizen or smtg like that. that guy really rocked
By Anonymous, at September 08, 2007 8:44 am
It seems pretty clear to me that he wasn't trying to kick the ball, but trying to get the other side marched back 10 more meters by 'diving' because of the tiny shoulder the guy walked into him with.
Pretty stupid and was never going to work, but he'll do anything to win and this video just proves it.
By Anonymous, at September 09, 2007 11:59 am
'doing anything to win'
whats wrong with that?
hes the best halfback going around poofters so stop baging him out
Faggits :)

ohh im the guy from the above message hehehehe, chris (the first comment) how can u say his bad form in tackling you havent seen him tackle throught out the super 14 then dumbass
By Anonymous, at September 10, 2007 5:17 am
Matt Dawson was a better Scrum half... hell even Dewi Morris was!
By Anonymous, at September 10, 2007 3:29 pm
Look, Gregan is not over rated. And who says his tackling isnt good? judging from his size and weight, he could tackle a big man like lomu which other FOWARD PACK(so much bigger then little gregan) cant. He stopped Lomu's attack. therefore, lomu never scores in games against the boks before.

i personally supports The All Blacks. But u have to be fair too. Not just because u support other team. u tend to look down on their players. Come'on, after all, Gregan is known as 1 of the best scrum - half or mayb even the best in the world and he has proven that.
By Anonymous, at September 15, 2007 7:51 pm
cheyanqui: agustin pichot is way better than gregan and they made their debut in their national teams in the same match
By Anonymous, at September 16, 2007 11:40 pm
hes a great scrum half who has served autralia well with over 100 caps
By Anonymous, at September 19, 2007 6:17 pm
i am argentinian and i think that gregan is a great scrum half but the best at the moment is du preez
pichot is not so good
he only has on thing that he doees well
and tackling he is a shit
By Anonymous, at November 13, 2007 8:38 pm
whoever said agustin pichot is better obviously didn't watch the semi final at the world cup where pichot nearly crapped himself. he was way outclassed in that game!

Ha Ha Ha!!.Classic from Gregan as the commentator (Andy Capostagno)says he looks like an outtake from a Kung Fu movie!.If I did that I would be so pissed the coach would tell me off for being embrassing while we were playing!.I'm glad Gregan fell on his arse!.
By Anonymous, at May 29, 2008 2:54 pm
Best scrumhalves.
1 - Joost van der Westhuizen

That's what I think of Georgey... he's crap!Look i'm one of the Welsh people and I have no purpose for Aussies!.
By Anonymous, at May 29, 2008 3:05 pm
LMAO What the flipping heck was he trying to do?!?!
By Anonymous, at June 11, 2008 5:20 pm
Why are aussies and kiwis so sensible about their players?!
always start calloing people names and then say how glorious their players are ...
Come on guys, respect people's opinions ...
I don't rate gregan that high ... i don't think he's crap but definetly not the best... gaulthier was probably better, so was peel and howley

That's quite an impressive feat by Gregan. His tackling is so good he stoped Lomu from scoring against a team he doesn't even play for.
By Anonymous, at June 29, 2008 4:26 pm
Hahahahah! What the hell was he trying to do there? I know they said he was "going for the kick", but who kicks a ball like that...?
By Anonymous, at July 25, 2008 10:48 pm
i cant believe someone can name a top ten scrum halves and not include ricky januarie of south africa, even tho he scpred against wales and i hate him for it :P i think he is such a smart player definately wouldnt mind having him in my team!
AND on the topic of the video he takes a slight nudge from the players walking back and makes the most of it, nothing new on a footy field, and i guess its the job of the scrum half to be the cheeky one and try something on
By Anonymous, at August 27, 2008 10:14 am
Howley was better
By Anonymous, at January 10, 2009 8:34 am
gareth adwards was the best ever
